Bacteriological Studies of Otofurunculosis

Abstract
In 39 cases suffering from Otofurunculosis, bacteriological flora and its sensitivity test against different antibiotics has been studied at O.P.D. on E.N.T. dept. of Seoul Red Cross Hospital by the culture and sensitivity test during the period of one year, from July 1978 to September 1979.
Following results were obtained.
1) Most common pathogenic organism was staphylococcus(43.6% coagulase positive staphylococcus, 25.6% coagulase negative staphylococcus and the next, 5. 1% pseudomonas).
2) Coagulase positive staphylococcus was very sensitive to cephaloridine, kanamycin, erythromycin, lincocin, and geopen, but it showed resistance against, chloromycin, terramycin, and penicillin.
3) Coagulase negative staphylococcus was very sensitive to kanamycin, cephaloridine, gentamycin, and lincocin but it showed restance against penicillin, terramycin, and chicromycin.
4) Pseudomonas was moderately sensitive to gentamycin.
